Stuart has been playing bass for over 20 years and has worked with Up4Grabs for 6 years. He is a busy professional who combines playing with the band with working as Head of Bass at the Bristol Institute of Modern Music and running his book publishing company Bassline Publishing.

Stuart has also toured the world with Carl Palmer of Emerson Lake & Palmer, and has filmed lessons for the online bass tuition website Lick Library. He has written seven books for Sanctuary Publishing/Music Sales and has self-published another eleven books, including the acclaimed Mark King/Level 42 Bass Transcription series. He continues to write books, and regularly contributes to Bass Guitar Magazine.

Stuart uses and endorses Zon Basses, and TC Electronic Bass Amplification.
